Shadow-Based Trajectory Estimation of a Deployable Payload

What is it about?

Artificial landmarks are utilized in space mission and we propose an estimation method of the deployment trajectory only from imagery. For the estimation, we utilize spacecraft’s and artificial marker’s shadow cast on the asteroid surface for the estimation. We analyzed Hayabusa2 mission data to validate the estimation method.
