Why is it important?
The research allowed us to define three groups of residents and their potential to adapt to the labour market: those who are active, those who are passive and those who choose social benefits instead of a work salary. Therefore, we think that it could be interesting for other researchers from Central and Eastern Europe to see and compare the adaptation processes appearing in Lithuania with the processes in their countries
Perspectives
We think that this article is interesting to read and understand the reality of life in rural peripheral areas. However, it shows that not only negatively we have look at these areas as the people who stayed in rural areas can adapt if they want.
