Why is it important?
Our findings show that the regular practice of physical activity is a fundamental tool for the prevention and treatment of fatty liver in patients with HCV. Regular physical activity is associated with the maintenance of variables related to hepatic and biochemical damage, attenuating the clinical features of these patients. Moreover, patients who perform more than 300 minutes of physical activity per week can achieve double benefits in the liver such as maintenance of liver enzymes related to hepatic damage and quality of life when compared to those considered insufficiently active.
