What is it about?
The success of any construction industry depends on the required number of skilled labour available. Shortage of skilled labour may have some influence on the general performance activities of the industry which may also contribute to the delay in the delivery of the project. The national economy may also be affected due to the individual contribution of each employee in a particular sector. The shortage of skilled labour may be attributed to the geographical location of the form and poor training acquired by personnel, as a result of lack of requisite technology, irregular and low remuneration, as well as low motivation. The skilled labour shortage is worse in the Ghanaian construction firms because construction firms don’t provide adequate training to their employees.

Why is it important?
The acquisition of skilled labour is paramount to all construction firms because it helps in reducing unnecessary waste of resources and money in recruitment.
Perspectives
The acquisition of skilled labour by construction firms is paramount because it reduces waste in the recruitment of personnel. The absence of skilled labour leads to double recruitment for the same task required to be done by one person.
