What is it about?

Workers’ positive and negative humor use were both associated with their sense of humor scores and their supervisors' humor use. The strongest associations were between workers’ positive humor use and their sense of humor scores and between workers’ negative humor use and their supervisors' negative humor use.

Why is it important?

Positive humor use may be more dependent on one’s personality, while negative humor use may depend more on whether one’s associates are using it. Alternatively, there may be self-serving bias in our perceptions such that we tend to credit ourselves for our positive humor use and blame others for our negative humor use.
