Collecting and using pre- consumer textile fiber waste in the making of new garments.

What is it about?

Tons of textile fiber waste is producing in each country. The fiber waste, when not used as a resource, it can add the solid waste in landfilling, or toxic fumes during burning. Therefore, this study demonstrate the use of textile fiber waste, mainly the pre-consumer waste, in the making of new garment product development. The fiber waste was collected from the fashion tailors from the selected middle class areas. The garments developed using the pre-consumer textile waste can be a source of a profitable business and saving the environmental damage.

Why is it important?

1. Pre- consumer fiber waste was available at minimal or zero price. 2. New garments developmed were having good market value. 3. Saving the environment from the hazards of textile waste. 4. Improving the concept of waste-to- reource in commercial working.
