Why is it important?

Although, the consumption of baobab fruit pulp in different forms has been going on for quite a long time, the knowledge about the nutritional value and the composition of the pulp is scarce. Therefore, there is considerable need to estimate the content of the minerals and nutritional value of the baobab fruit pulp.

Perspectives

The present study shows that the baobab fruit pulp is very rich in vitamin C, càarbohydrate, fiber and essential minerals, thereby demonstrating that baobab pulp could contribute to meet the recommended daily intakes of these nutrients
