What is it about?
The main purpose of our study is to evaluate the awareness of osteoporosis (OP) in a selected sample of subjects of different age and sex. This is a survey involving 299 adults (aged 18-75 years) designed to assess knowledge about OP risk conducted by a metadisciplinary research team of LUISS Guido Carli University

Why is it important?
This survey is relevant because is designed to assess the perception and to highlight the crucial points of this skeletal disease (OP) inducing interest also in those segments of the population that are not considered at risk at the moment, becoming a potential proof of concept for primary bone health prevention. More specifically, our results seemed to point out the need to draw attention to some specific underestimated risk factors of bone loss such as menstrual irregularities and strenuous physical activity
