Grading Acanthosis Nigricans Using a Smartphone and Color Analysis: A Novel Noninvasive Method to Screen for Impaired Glucose Tolerance and Type 2 Diabetes

What is it about?

We have developed ANcam, a smartphone-based color analysis method, to identify Acanthosis Nigricans (AN) and screen for Impaired Glucose Tolerance (IGT). ANcam showed high accuracy in detecting IGT, offering a sensitive and user-friendly tool for smartphone users with various skin tones and under most lighting conditions.
