Risk of Negative Health Outcomes and High Costs for People With Diabetes and Unmet Psychological Needs in the United States

What is it about?

Comorbid mental illness has been associated with negative health outcomes and resource utilization in chronic conditions. We examined the association between unmet psychological need and total cost of care/health outcomes in people with type 2 diabetes, and found the presence of an unmet psychological need increased risk of negative outcomes.
