What is it about?

We found that in older Black patients with diabetes and mild cognitive impairment, the most significant factors in managing blood glucose levels were diabetes-related distress and physical functioning on a day-to-day basis. This finding is significant in this population since it may be assumed poor cognition is the culprit behind poor diabetes management, but our study shows that targeting these other health factors may be more impactful within this high-risk population.
