Diabetic Nephropathy: Update on Pillars of Therapy Slowing Progression

What is it about?

Ultimately the ability to stop kidney disease progression from diabetes is available. Independent of blood pressure and sugar control we now have a total of three agents that should be used together to substantially slow kidney disease from diabetes. There is soon to be a fourth agent that may also slow progression independent of the other agents. Hence, within the next 2-3 years we may be able to almost stop the progression of kidney disease from diabetes with these four agents used together.
