What is it about?
Despite warnings from the American Diabetes Association, fluoride tubes are often used for glucose testing as granulated citrate tubes are not approved in the US. We examined the rates of in vitro glycolysis in conditions that reflect typical outpatient workflows and demonstrate that simple centrifugation of plasma gel-tubes is far more effective in obtaining accurate glucose results for diabetes screening.
