What is it about?

This study looked at type 2 diabetes remission—when blood sugar stays healthy without medication—in a large group of U.S. adults. Over three years, only 2.9% achieved remission. People who had fewer diabetes medications, lower blood sugar levels, and a shorter diabetes duration were most likely to go into diabetes remission. These findings may help doctors identify patients who could benefit from treatment strategies. More research is needed to understand how long remission lasts and its health effects.
