What is it about?
Insufficient sleep is linked to an higher risk of diabetes. We tested the impact of reducing sleep duration by ~1.5 h per night for 6 wk and found that, compared to continued adequate sleep of >7 h/night, insufficient sleep increased insulin resistance. This was more pronounced in post-menopausal women compared to pre-menopausal women.
