What is it about?
Family functioning, specific to management of adults' diabetes, is complex and varies widely. Our typology identifies four distinct types. These types appear in different samples. Changes in types over time are associated with changes in outcomes including self-efficacy, medication taking, hemoglobin A1c, diabetes distress and depressive symptoms.
