New-Onset Fulminant Type 1 Diabetes After SARS-CoV-2 Infection

What is it about?

To our knowledeg, this is the first report of new-onset FT1D caused by SARS-CoV-2 infection.This unique case highlights the occurance of FT1D after SARS-CoV-2 infection. It also needs further support to the role of SARS-CoV-2 infection in onset of FT1D. Finally, this case draw attention to the vigilance for FT1D in patients who present with diabetic ketoacidosis during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, clinicians should also be alert to the possibility of FT1D when some other viruses spread in future.
