What is it about?
This study investigated whether a glucose sensor can help to normalise sugar (glucose) levels in people with diabetes and a recent heart attack. Compared with traditional finger prick testing of glucose, the use of glucose sensors successfully prevented hypoglycemia (abnormally low glucose levels) while being equally effective at reducing high glucose. There was a marginal improvement in quality of life measures in sensor users while the prevention of hypoglycemia made the sensor cost effective.
