What is it about?
COVID-19 infection has been reported to increase the incidence of type 1 diabetes in studies that lack detailed information on dates of onset. We showed that in Scotland whilst type 1 diabetes incidence increased during the pandemic that is was not due to COVID-19 infection itself. Other pandemic related factors therefore underlie this increase.
