Use of the Steno T1 Risk Engine Identifies Preclinical Atherosclerosis Better Than Use of ESC/EASD-2019 in Adult Subjects With Type 1 Diabetes at High Risk

What is it about?

Future cardiovascular events are difficult to predict in people with type 1 diabetes. We analyzed two of the main risk scales used in this population and found that there was no concordance between them in the estimation and, moreover, the more specific one (Steno Type 1 Risk Engine) was associated with the presence of preclinical carotid atherosclerosis while the more generic one (ESC/EASD-2019) was not.
