What is it about?
Inertia in diabetes treatment intensification has been associated with long-term risk of diabetes complications. We examined temporal trends in early diabetes treatment patterns and found progressive delays in initiation of second-line treatment in individuals with diabetes initially treated with metformin between 2005 and 2013.
