Type 2 Diabetes Subgroups, Risk for Complications, and Differential Effects Due to an Intensive Lifestyle Intervention

What is it about?

We show that the risk for cardiovascular disease following an intensive lifestyle intervention among overweight and obese individuals with diabetes differs according to subgroups of disease. The intervention is associated with cardiovascular harm for individuals in the subgroup with the highest blood glucose at baseline, and benefit among other subgroups.
