Metabolic Syndrome and COVID-19 Mortality Among Adult Black Patients in New Orleans

What is it about?

Patients with diabetes, hypertension, and obesity may be at increased risk if infected with COVID19. We show that when clustering these diagnoses together as Metabolic Syndrome, patients experience increased severe and fatal outcomes as compared to those without metabolic syndrome.
