What is it about?
A growing body of work has suggested that time spent sedentary (sitting down) can negatively affect your heart health, especially in older adults. Our study showed that cardiovascular risks went up with increased time spent sitting even in extremely active older adults (a group that were active about 2.5 hours per day).

Our study definitively showed that sitting is an important risk factor for heart issues in older adults, regardless of how active you are.
