What is it about?

In the International Childhood Cardiovascular Cohort Consortium, with childhood data obtained during the 1970s-90s, we obtain self-report of adult tyoe 2 diabetes at mean age 40 years. Elevated adult diabetes risk occurred at values of childhood body mass index and blood glucose that are lower than those currently in use. Childhood insulin levels also added to prediction of adult diabetes. Monitoring of these 3 variables during childhood could help to reduce the risk of adult diabetes.
