What is it about?

Dickkopf 3 is a protein in the urine, which was tested as a potential marker of progression of kidney disease in people with type 2 diabetes. The study found very interestingly that Dickkopf 3 may be a marker of worsening of kidney disease, heart disease and death. Thus it may be helpful in identifying those who need the most intensive management. Perhaps it can also help guide selection of treatment but we need new studies to clarify if this would work
