What is it about?

A growing body of research links a child’s exposure to obesity and diabetes while still in the womb to an elevated future risk for developing obesity or type 2 diabetes. Discoveries in the BrainChild Cohort provide a deeper understanding of how diabetes and obesity risks can pass from generation to generation. They emphasize early brain changes that may signal the future development of obesity and T2D in children born to mothers with gestational diabetes or obesity.
