What is it about?

Whilst changes in intracellular ATP resulting from the activation of mitochondrial metabolism have long been throught to be the principal means through which glucose stimulates insulin secretion, a recent study has questioned this hypothesis. Here, we query whether the new work merits that revision of the canonical model is needed, or not.
