What is it about?
Diabetes can cause problems with blood flow and wound healing. MicroRNAs are small pieces of genetic material that can influence these problems. We focused on one microRNA called miRNA-181c-5p. We found that blocking this microRNA improved blood flow and wound healing in diabetic mice. It did this by increasing the growth of new blood vessels. This could be a new way to treat diabetes-related blood flow problems.
