A new vaccine against a group of viruses associated with the development of type 1 diabetes has recently been developed. It is important to make sure that such a vaccine does not increase the risk of type 1 diabetes developing. Here we provide experimental evidence that the vaccine itself doesn't induce type 1 diabetes and can prevent a form of virus-accelerated diabetes.
