What is it about?

The relationship between obesity and adverse health outcomes is clear at a population level, but the exact mechanism linking obesity to the development of insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes is still a matter of intense research. We show for the first time the relative fat tissue failure in human obese cohorts to be a major determinant of accelerated insulin resistance and its attendant complications.
