What is it about?

Diabetic kidney interstitial fibrosis is a common change presented in diabetic patients. We found that EGFR activation mediated proximal tubule YAP dependent production and release of CTGF by paracrine mechanisms plays an important role in diabetic kidney interstitial fibrogenesis. Intervention of YAP activation may be a therapeutic strategy to prevent the development and progression of diabetic interstitial fibrogenesis.
