What is it about?
Extracellular vesicles (EV)s are emerging as novel, potential markers and mediators of type 2 diabetes (T2D) complications. We showed that CD31+EVs shuttle a miRNA signature associated with the presence of cardiovascular complications in patients with T2D and also that are able to promote an inflammatory phenotype in endothelial cells.
