What is it about?
Diabetes first diagnosed in pregnancy (gestational diabetes) is linked to increased lifetime risk for type 2 diabetes. In qualitative interviews, we found that women who had gestational diabetes and healthcare providers, nurses, and dieticians tend to focus on short term risks and may not consider all options available for diabetes prevention.
