Telehealth to Avoid Emergency Department Visit and Hospitalization for a Person With Newly Diagnosed Type 1 Diabetes During the Coronavirus Disease 2019 Pandemic

What is it about?

We demonstrate the safe and effective use of telemedicine to manage a patient with new-onset type 1 diabetes, while avoiding the need for the use of the emergency department or hospital admission during the Covid19 pandemic. We define safeguards to ensure the safety of this approach.
