Diabetes is an independent risk factor for heart failure and half of patients with type 2 diabetes may develop heart failure.
Perspectives
Heart failure is a common comorbidity in persons with diabetes and clinicians should feel comfortable managing both disease states. The authors goal was to produce an educational guide for healthcare professionals on the comanagement of persons with heart failure and diabetes.
