Influence of the lock-down on diabetic foot care delivery

Why is it important?
A lot of creativity is necessary in critical situations - this can be considered a problem or a new opportunity. Good lessons were learnt from the epidemic.
Perspectives
COVID-19 epidemic and lock-down triggered some changes in the organization of diabetic foot care delivery. A full switch to telemedicine is not possible, but the patients slowly accepted the possibility o e-consultations and sending photos of their feet to the clinic. In this way, the pressure on the clinic decreased and the risk of infection spread was lower as well. We shall continue with this kind of approach in the future.
