Why is it important?

Accounting programs continue to struggle with how to incorporate technology into the curriculum - a critical need, given the current state of the accounting profession that will be facing students upon graduation. Although the tool was built over a decade ago, the framework behind it (focusing on an organization's resources, events, and key agents) is still the foundation for accounting and still shows how technology streamlines processes and captures data.

Perspectives

This project enabled me to strengthen my understanding of the resource-event-agent framework, to bring creativity to my work, and to introduce critical topics in a sophomore course. We created this tool when the internet was really taking off, when integrated technology was still relatively new, and when strategy and business ideas were being transformed - it was so exciting to be part of that, and so rewarding to have it still be relevant!
