What is it about?

We investigate key features of Thai's dispute resolution culture and negotiation strategy. We apply the lenz of Hofstede's cultural dimension to Thai people. One of key features is the recognition of authority in the strata of Thai society, since Budhism teaches that current wealth and high ranking in the society reflects his(her) former life in the past. Kreng Jai is a kind of key features of Thai culture.

Why is it important?

In recent times, ASEAN including Thailand play an important role of Hub inducing foreign investment from outside world. On the other hand, it is not an easy job for Westernes to manage business in Thailand, since outsiders of ASEAN are faced with cultural shock. This essay contribute to vindicate the key features of dispute resolution mechanism of Thailand.

Perspectives

My plan is to vindicate the core concepts of each national culture of Southeast Asian countries. Thailand is an iindispensible stepping stone in order to understand ASEAN countries.
