What is it about?
The concept of universe amongst the Muslim scholars in the Malay world has been identified as an ambiguous Islamic cosmological doctrine and it is irrelevant to the development of Islamic sciences, but does it actually true? This paper examines the concept if there is any strong foundation underlying it and its relevance to the current development of Islamic sciences especially in Islamic astronomy.

Why is it important?
Our results show that the concept of universe amongst the Muslim scholars in the Malay world as presented by Syaikh Daud al-Fatani was constructed based on strong foundation particularly based on the thinking method of Nafi and Isbat that derived from the revealed source.
Perspectives
I hope this article provides new perspective and insights on the concept of universe amongst the Muslim scholars in the Malay world and its constructive impact to the current development of Islamic sciences especially in Islamic astronomy.
