Type 1 diabetes is a serious non-communicable disorder which has a high prevalence rate. We report for the first time that, Nanoceria, a novel rare earth nanoparticle, remarkably ameliorates type 1 diabetes and suppresses diabetogenesis by its potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity.
