What is it about?

In this systematic review we found that functional and cognitive impairment and frailty in patients reaching ESRD are highly prevalent and strongly and independently associate with adverse health outcomes after initiation of RRT or conservative kidney management. The associations were independent of calendar age and other known risk factors for poor outcome.
