What is it about?
Kidney disease is common amongst people with Type 2 Diabetes. A group of drugs for the treatment of type 2 diabetes called sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 inhibitors seem to protect the kidney compared to a different group of drugs called: dipeptidyl peptidase 4 inhibitors. The prevention of kidney disease was demonstrated in a large database of patients with Type 2 Diabetes mostly without previous cardiac or kidney disease.
