What is it about?
It is assumed that in Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD), despite progressive formation of cysts and loss of nephrons, kidney function remains in the normal range for several decades due to hyperfiltration of remnant nephrons. In this study, we showed for the first time that hyperfiltration, defined by a loss of kidney function reserve capacity, is not an early phenomenon in ADPKD.
