What is it about?
Failure of RC beams caused by shear force is a sudden collapse. Test results revealed unsafe design of the RC beams under two shear using the current formula. We proposed a prediction model for the calculation of the shear capacity under two perpendicular loading.

Why is it important?
Using the proposed biaxail shear capacity calculation model, the RC beams are safe.
Perspectives
An earthquake load induces lateral shear force to columns in a direction not necessary perpendicular to the member major axis. Hence, it generates two perpendicular shear acting simultaneously. This research proposed the shear capacity calculation model with more accurate than the current design code, as compared with the test results.
