What is it about?

We examine patterns of use of Wikipedia. And we see if health topics differ from other topics with respect to when people search Wikipedia. We found that health topics were searched for more often at the beginning of the work-week and the least on Saturdays. A similar pattern was also found for two NON-health related topics.

Why is it important?

We follow a weekly pattern when we search Wikipedia. This pattern could apply for other sources of information also, but this is a topic for future research.

Perspectives

Knowing patterns of searching for health information can be useful knowledge for people who want to disseminate such information, for instance health campaigns, etc.
