What is it about?
This study is about how cities manage their trees, especially when it comes to deciding whether to keep or remove trees during urban development. The research looks at the opinions of two groups of people involved in this process: certified landscape professionals (ALPs) and those without formal credentials (LPs). The goal is to understand what factors influence their decisions about tree removal.

Why is it important?
This study is important because it helps cities balance development and environmental conservation by understanding the factors influencing tree removal decisions. It provides insights for better urban tree management, informed decision-making, and effective resource allocation, ensuring cities retain the benefits of trees while growing sustainably.
Perspectives
Despite the critical benefits trees provide—like improving air quality, reducing urban heat, and enhancing mental well-being—decisions about tree removal or retention are frequently made without sufficient consideration of their long-term impact. This oversight can lead to the loss of valuable green spaces, especially in rapidly developing areas.
