Why is it important?
Established surgical management of complex pediatric CVJ surgery was described. The difference of the range of foramen magnum decompression in different pathologies was demonstrated. There are many suggestions for those who are going to operate this challenging CVJ lesions.
Perspectives
The paper is a kind of summary of my surgical experience in pediatric CVJ lesion and I am sure it would be appreciated for those who are going to operate the CVJ lesion with complicated anatomy. Surgical procedure of the foramen magnum decompression in achondroplasia and the upper cervical decompression for Chiari malformation type 2 involve deep suggestions which I wanted to emphasize in the paper.
