What is it about?

The naturally obtained compounds (nutraceuticals) which help to treat the cardiovascular disease. Nutraceuticals can be described as food components which come with health benefits and have been discussed on the stand as having the potential to reducing CVD risk factors such as hypertension, arrythmia, myocardial infraction, hypertrophy, and Atherosclerosis. The objectives of this book chapter are to identify the involved mechanism and to review the role of the studied nutraceuticals like Grapes, cocoa, garlic, turmeric, brassica, onion, apple, blueberry, and Spirulina platensis.

Why is it important?

nutraceuticals can be beneficial as an additional therapy to conventional treatment of CVD and more research is needed to better understand the effects and the potential of nutraceuticals in improving cardiovascular health strategies.
