What is it about?
Providing adequate anaesthesia is the prime goal of the clinician to render a painless experience to the patient while going through dental extraction or minor surgical procedure. Various maxillary and mandibular anaesthetic techniques have been discussed in the chapter. It is relatively easy to achieve maxillary pain control because of thin and porous bone of the maxilla.Pain control in the mandibular area needs more care and dexterity in techniques. Additional techniques of mandibular nerve block have also been suggested over alveolar nerve block in the main chapter. The vitals of the patient like blood pressure, heart rate, and even oxygen saturation levels should be monitored before and during the procedure to prevent any chance of complications.
